The quarterback battle between Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel and Tyrod Taylor will be huge

Player you’ll be buzzing about: LB Ty Powell — Powell was impressive during OTAs, with four interceptions that drew the attention of his coaches. A special teamer to this point, Powell should get a chance to play on defense.

What to watch: The quarterback battle between Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel and Tyrod Taylor will be huge, though the Bills have a lot to settle outside of that. They need to find a starting safety with Jairus Byrd and Da’Norris Searcy departing over the past couple of years. Seeing LeSean McCoy running in a Bills uniform should also be high on the list.

Most important position battle: Quarterback — This is no big secret, and it would be silly to go with anything else. The Bills need to figure out who their starting quarterback is.

“I think more running backs will definitely start to run [like Bell],” Gordon says. “You could see it in that Dallas game a little bit. … It’s not really that the players don’t want to do it, it’s more the coaches being comfortable with it. And maybe the coaches will change their mindset as they see [Bell] have more and more success.”

The seeds for Bell’s style were planted way back in youth football in Columbus, Ohio, when Bell’s uncle, Clarence, told him to stop running over the guys who blocked for him. Once Bell started to learn blocking schemes, he couldn’t get enough.

He refined his approach in East Lansing, channeling his inner John Nash during 11-man tests from Michigan State coaches. Bell perked up when asked to identify protections, routes and audibles for each player on the offense from the white washboard. For extra credit, he’d point out the need to abandon his assignment for extra blocking if the defensive end ran free. “He would point out things that most people wouldn’t see or even know to ask about,” Michigan State assistant Brad Salem says. “Just a joy to coach.”

Bradley looked like he won a fan contest to live out his dream of being an NFL head coach

Bradley elected to go with coffee, and nothing else, for his morning chat with a coming and going of reporters from all over the nation. He has been at the annual meetings each year since he was hired, but you wouldn’t have known it by looking at him.

Despite countless interviews in the more than two years since his hire, Bradley looked like he won a fan contest to live out his dream of being an NFL head coach. His eyes didn’t stop swimming around the table with childlike enthusiasm, as if he were trying to convince every reporter that he loves his job as much as he says he does. Even when he’s not laughing or smiling, years of laugh lines are carved into the corners of his eyes.

His answers to questions, which consistently featured him cracking a joke that he laughs at louder than anybody else, contained no attempt to temper his optimism about the improvement he sees in a team that has struggled to find wins under his leadership.

One problem Bryant faces is that the price of receivers has dropped since Megatron signed his deal. Miami signed Mike Wallace to a $60 million deal with $27 million fully guaranteed in 2013, then dumped his salary and winning locker room presence in a trade with the Vikings this year. (Successful front offices usually don’t stay that way by emulating the Lions and Dolphins).

Limited Womens Robert Meachem Jersey Next on the list is Vincent Jackson, who signed a five-year, $55.5 million contract with $26 million guaranteed. The biggest wide receiver contract signed this year was Jeremy Maclin ($22.5 million guaranteed). Green Bay re-signed both Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson, with $24.5 million in guaranteed money split between the two.

Dallas has a history of poor contract decisions when it comes to receivers, a holdover from Jerry Jones’ over-involved general manager days. But it’s not Dez Bryant’s fault the Cowboys got burned on deals for Terrell Owens and Roy Williams.

Dirk Nowitzki is starting to resemble Dirk Nowitzki …

Game Womens Terron Armstead Jersey Sunday’s matinee loss in Dallas surely dulled some of the shine, but the Wolves actually strung three victories in a row together last week, with the much-critiqued Ricky Rubio dishing out a 17-assist performance in a surprising victory over Houston and then hounding Russell Westbrook into 0-for-8 shooting with four turnovers in the second half of the Wolves’ victory Friday night over OKC. ?The part we liked best: Karl-Anthony Towns sat down with us over the weekend to tape a nice TrueHoop Conversations podcast that will be out for your listening pleasure soon.

Tuesday night’s performance offered another example of how that prediction is coming to fruition, as the Bulls dropped a 99-98 affair to the lowly Mavericks. It is the second time that Dallas, now 14-27, has knocked off Chicago this season.

The script was familiar for coach Fred Hoiberg’s team: It didn’t play with consistent energy in the first half; it made too many defensive miscues late; and it couldn’t get much help from a group of reserves that finished the night a combined 8-for-23 from the field.

After one of their best wins of the season on Sunday night in Memphis, the Bulls yet again allowed a bad team to knock them off.

That’s not to say Akognon wasn’t treated as a celebrity in China. He remembers one moment in particular, when he and his wife were walking around looking at Christmas lights in Dongguan. After a fan called out to him, Akognon waved back and then bent down to pick his young son up from his stroller. When Akognon looked up, hundreds of fans were gathering around him. Before long, police officers showed up to push Akognon and his family through the masses all the way back to his apartment.

This will be the story of the NFL’s offseason

What happens to Tony Romo? This will be the story of the NFL’s offseason. Jerry Jones can say it is possible to keep Romo and his $24.7 million cap figure in 2017 all he wants, but it’s just not practical. Prescott won the job after Romo’s injury and kept the job after Romo returned. Romo turns 37 in April and has played two full games since 2014. The relationship between Jones and Romo should mean that a split will be amicable. Jones will not trade the quarterback to a team that he doesn’t want to play for.

That limits the field and could lead to a release instead of a trade. Romo can refuse a trade simply by saying he will retire. He said in November the competitive fire still burns, but the Cowboys are the only team he has ever known. We know he can still play, but does he want to play? There is no timetable on a potential move, but by early spring this should be worked out either way.

Is it time to replace Alex Smith? The Chiefs have given no indication they¡¯re ready to move on from their starting quarterback of four seasons. But Smith, who turns 33 in May, might have taken the Chiefs as far as he can. He had a career low for a full season with 15 touchdown passes in 2016 as his passing in the red zone was particularly subpar.

Authentic Womens Kyle Van Noy Jersey End-zone interceptions against the Buccaneers and Titans were the key plays in games that wound up as two-point losses. The Chiefs signed veteran Nick Foles last summer. He was drafted by Andy Reid when he coached the Eagles. Foles, who threw 27 touchdown passes with two interceptions for the Eagles in 2013, might be able to take the Chiefs to a place that Smith couldn¡¯t. He might better help the Chiefs maximize what they get from their receivers, including Jeremy Maclin, who had a down season.

So why should we even be talking about Stedman Bailey?

A 6-foot-2 wide receiver with a 40 time of 4.5 coming out of college, Aiken hauled in 24 of his 32 targets for 267 yards and three touchdowns last season. Marc Trestman is running the offense in Baltimore now, which means the team should be towards the top of the league in passing attempts. I like the combo.

Do I expect Aiken to hold off Perriman all year? Of course not. But when you’re paying absolutely nothing for a guy who’s competing with a 36-year-old and a rookie in a good system, you’re looking at a possible great return on your investment.

You might not get excited about fantasy value from a Jeff Fisher offense, and I can’t blame you. It’s the opposite of a flashy offense, as the Rams ranked No. 30 in offensive plays per game in 2014.

So why should we even be talking about Stedman Bailey? I’ll give you a few reasons.

Julian Edelman – His ADP is the 19th receiver off the board and we have him a lot lower than that. While Edelman could prove to be a solid WR2 in PPR leagues, it’s a little tough to count on him in that role in a standard. The Patriots are going to lean on Rob Gronkowski a ton, while Brandon LaFell came on last year, too.

We have him at 28 while his ADP is 22. There are a lot of reasons to like Watkins: He is the no-doubt WR1 on his team and he is reportedly destroying his teammates in camp. The downside? He’s on the Bills, who figure to be one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Watkins will certainly have his big games, but expect him to have multiple games with less than five fantasy points in a standard league.

Mike Wallace – For some reason, he’s the 30th receiver going off the board. Yeah, a change of scenery could help, but Wallace graded out as one of the worst receivers in the NFL last season. None of our six writers have him at 30 or higher.

Browns OL coach Andy Moeller suspended, is under investigation for alleged assault

Victim was transported to a hotel at her request. Called police again, said there was an injury, wished to pursue charges.

The woman, later revealed to be Moeller’s former fiancee, told the 911 operator that he tried to “strangle me and beat me up.” She further claimed that Moeller told her to “shut up” while she was engaged in a phone conversation with her son. has acquired the full audio of the 911 call.

“I hate to do this to him, but you know what, I’m glad I made it out of there in time,” the woman, who identified herself as “Sandy,” told the 911 dispatcher. She also claimed the Moeller had been drinking beer and that he had been violent before.

The woman was a guest of Moeller’s, according to the report. Police were required to file a report, which was presented to the city’s prosecutor, who will make the ultimate decision on whether to file charges.

The Chargers are considering two locations — the L.A. Coliseum, where the Rams currently play, and the StubHub Center in Carson — for their home games until the new Inglewood stadium opens in 2019. Jamaal Charles¡¯ potential ACL tear headlines Week 5 NFL injury report

Yesterday’s NFL action featured a relatively short list of key injuries. There was, however, a devastating one for fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, what appears to be a serious injury to Jamaal Charles’ right knee. SB Nation Medical Expert Dr. Ali Mohamadi offers some insight into the Week 5 injury situation in his Monday morning injury update.

The stat of the night might have been both teams’ combined 6-of-25 performance on third downs up until that drive (the Steelers were 2-of-11). This game was not well-suited for spectators … until late in the third quarter.

Youth Derrick Rose Jersey Antwon Blake made what might have been the biggest play of the night when he stepped in front of a pass intended for Malcom Floyd and took it 70 yards to the house for the Steelers’ first touchdown. The score gave the Steelers a brief 10-7 lead, aided by a lackadaisical effort on the chase from the Chargers.

Blake was overshadowed by an overall outstanding day by Chargers tight end Antonio Gates, however. Making his season debut coming off a four-game suspension, Gates immediately became Rivers’ favorite target, catching his 100th career touchdown pass on the Chargers’ opening possession. He followed up the score with a brilliant route and catch in the fourth quarter that briefly gave the San Diego the lead in the fourth.

According to head coach Andy Reid, preliminary tests were suspicious for an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. The extent of the injury will be revealed following an MRI scheduled for Monday. If indeed Charles has torn his ACL, he would undergo surgery and lose the rest of his 2015 campaign.

Adding Damon Harrison (98) and Olivier Vernon (54) to the defensive line was a key step in the rejuvenation of the Giants defense

The overhaul happened in the span of an offseason, with five free-agent acquisitions, a first-round pick and several undrafted free-agent finds. The defensive rebuild was spearheaded by general manager Jerry Reese, assistant general manager Kevin Abrams, vice president of player evaluation Marc Ross and their scouting staff. Together they pulled off the improbable; some might have even said the impossible prior to this season.

Mens Drew Brees Jersey The Giants’ front-office brass hit on all three of their major offseason signings. Jenkins made the Pro Bowl and the other two were deserving. Vernon led the team in sacks with 8.5 and Harrison led all defensive tackles with 86 tackles, including six for a loss.

It begins Sunday against a Packers team they already lost to earlier this season in Green Bay.

RB Paul Perkins. The rookie has increased his rushing total in each of the past six games. He even made his first career start in Week 17 against the Redskins, when he became the Giants’ first 100-yard rusher of the season. If Perkins can give the Giants any sort of rushing attack (they had 54 yards rushing as a team in their first meeting with the Packers), it will help open passing lanes against a depleted secondary that can be exploited. And Packers all-world quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be kept off the field.
Didi Gregorius Game Jersey
Their defense plays at an extremely high level. They’ve held three of their past four opponents to 10 points or fewer, and two of those teams (Cowboys and Redskins) were top-10 offenses. So are the Packers. If the Giants keep Green Bay and Rodgers in check and under 20 points, Manning & Co. will leave Lambeau Field with a win. Even during the final three games of their six-game winning streak, Green Bay has given up 24 points or more. The Packers are an average team (5-5) when they don’t score 30 points this season.

Eagles ejected a reporter for discussing press box etiquette

The Philadelphia Eagles’ season hasn’t gone quite as they would have liked. The team started 3-0, but since then there hasn’t been much to cheer for in the City of Brotherly Love.

On Sunday, the Eagles were hosting the Dallas Cowboys. During the game, Eagles beat writer Jeff McLane, who writes for the Philadelphia Inquirer, was taken out of the press box by the Eagles’ PR staff, reportedly after discussion regarding etiquette with them.

Whaley’s answers to the questions left reporters in Buffalo confused about the actual responsibilities of his job, and asking questions straight out of Office Space:

According to Jay Glazer of FOX, Baalke was informed of the team’s decision to move on without him on Friday. Glazer also revealed that the 49ers were set to hire Adam Gase a year ago, but Baalke convinced ownership to avoid the hire at the last minute, setting San Francisco up with Kelly instead.

Baalke has shouldered the blame for the team’s struggles throughout the season, and doubled down that personnel decisions were his and his alone. There was some ‘miscommunication’ about Kelly’s role with personnel when he was with the Eagles, but he and Baalke have seemingly been on the same page.

Last year, the hot seat claimed coaches like Chip Kelly, Tom Coughlin, Lovie Smith, and Ken Whisenhunt. This winter will claim even more, including Kelly again. Here’s a look at the first round of rumors, grumblings, and reports about 2016’s embattled NFL coaches.

The 49ers closed out their regular season on Sunday at home with a 25-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
